OurDinnerMenu (website ourdinnermenu.com and the Android app) · Last updated November 3, 2026
OurDinnerMenu keeps what you put into it so it can plan your dinners and remind you. It doesn’t show ads, doesn’t sell or rent your data, and doesn’t use tracking or analytics tools. You can delete your account and its data at any time from Settings.
OurDinnerMenu is made and run by one person, Trevor Glenn, in the United States. Questions or requests: 1dayaiapps@gmail.com.
- Account: your email address and password (the password is handled by Google’s Firebase Authentication; we never see it).
- What you enter: your name if you add one, time zone, dietary needs and foods to avoid, planned dinners, kitchen inventory, spices, shopping list, store names and sale links, recipes you save, prices you’ve paid, and settings.
- Pictures and files you choose to upload: store ads, recipe cards, receipts, item photos, and pictures attached to an upgrade idea.
- Upgrade ideas: the text you send on the Support page, with your email so we can tell who sent it.
- Notifications: if you turn on reminders, a push token for your phone or browser so we can send them.
- Camera: the barcode scanner uses your camera only while it’s open. The video is read on your device and isn’t sent or saved; only the barcode number is used.
- Basic technical data: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, time and page requested) for security and fixing problems.
We don’t collect your location, contacts, or payment details, and we don’t knowingly collect anything else.
Only to run the app for you: plan dinners and timing, keep your inventory and shopping list, match sales and recipes, estimate costs, send the reminders you asked for, keep your account secure, answer your messages, and decide what to improve. We don’t use your data for advertising or profiling.
- Google (Firebase and Google Cloud): hosts the app and stores your data (in the United States), handles sign-in, and delivers notifications. Uploaded ads, recipe cards and receipts, and the ingredient names used for “Find recipes online”, are read by Google’s Gemini AI through Google Cloud. Google processes this data on our behalf under its cloud terms and doesn’t use it to train its AI models.
- Open Food Facts: when you scan a barcode or look up a product photo, the barcode number or product name is sent to this public food database. Nothing that identifies you is sent.
- Websites you point us to: when you add a store sale link or import a recipe from a web address, our server visits that page to read it. The site sees our server, not you.
- Your household: if you join or invite people into a household, everyone in it sees the shared dinners, inventory, recipes, shopping list and settings, and each member’s email.
- PayPal: only if you tap “Donate”, which takes you to PayPal’s own site under PayPal’s privacy policy. We receive no card or bank details.
- When the law requires it: if we must, to respond to a valid legal request or to protect people’s safety.
We don’t sell your data or share it with anyone else.
We use one sign-in cookie to keep you signed in, and your device’s local storage to remember a few settings (such as US or metric units). There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
We keep your data while your account exists. To delete it, open Settings → Delete account in the app, or email 1dayaiapps@gmail.com from the address you signed up with. Deleting your account removes your login, dinners, inventory, recipes, sales, ideas and pictures. If you set up a household, deleting it removes the household’s shared data too; if you’re a member, you just leave it. Server logs are deleted automatically by our hosting provider after a limited time.
All traffic uses HTTPS, data is encrypted when stored by Google, and each account can only reach its own data. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a password you don’t use elsewhere.
OurDinnerMenu is meant for adults planning household meals and isn’t directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect data from children; if you believe a child has made an account, email us and we’ll delete it.
You can see and change your information in the app at any time, turn reminders off, and delete your account. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of your data or ask us to correct or delete it — email us and we’ll respond within 30 days.
If this policy changes, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top. Big changes will also be announced in the app.
